A Luxury Yacht
Ombak Putih
42 M | 12 Cabins | 24 Guests
Ombak Putih is a 42-metre traditional Phinisi yacht designed for sailing voyages through eastern Indonesia, with twelve cabins and a format that suits larger groups and cabin voyages alike. Rather than following the rhythm of a private yacht, she offers a more expedition-led style of travel, where life on board is shaped by island landings, snorkelling stops, cultural visits, and passages under sail. For guests drawn to remote routes and a more social style of exploration, she offers a distinctive way to experience Indonesia by sea.
The name means White Wave, which suits the vessel well. It reflects something simple and elemental.
“Ombak Putih is about the quality of the journey itself. She works well for guests who are interested in the culture and the experience of travelling on a traditional sailing vessel.”

On Board Ombak Putih
Life on board Ombak Putih is shaped around the course of the voyage rather than around a highly layered yacht lifestyle. The decks provide space to sit under sail, rest between excursions, and watch the landscape change over the course of the day, while the air-conditioned indoor areas support a more chilled onboard rhythm for a larger group. The atmosphere feels social, steady, and outward-looking, with the yacht acting as a comfortable base for exploring remote islands rather than the sole focus of the experience.
Sensibly Laid Out
Cabins on Ombak Putih
Ombak Putih has twelve cabins arranged to accommodate up to twenty-four guests. The accommodation is practical and comfortable, designed to support longer exploratory voyages with a larger number of guests rather than to create a strong suite hierarchy. This makes the yacht particularly well suited to shared departures, special-interest groups, or larger private charters where the focus is on the journey as a whole.
An additional cabin below deck has two smaller beds that can convert into one, perfect for children, friends, or personal staff. All cabins have air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms with hot water, and carefully selected toiletries.
Food & Beverages
Dining on Ombak Putih
Dining on board Ombak Putih follows the rhythm of an expedition-style sailing voyage, with meals sitting naturally between snorkelling, shore visits, wildlife encounters, and time spent under way. The overall feel is communal and unforced, which suits a yacht carrying a larger group and travelling through regions where the day is often shaped by what lies beyond the boat as much as by life on board.
Food on board is best thought of as fresh, generous, and well suited to a longer journey, with meals designed to keep guests comfortable and well looked after over the course of the voyage.

Expert Insights on Ombak Putih
Barefoot’s take
Ombak Putih is a great choice for guests who want the voyage itself to take centre stage. She is not a boutique private yacht in the usual sense, but a traditional sailing vessel that opens up a broader, more communal way of travelling through Indonesia — one shaped by place, people, and time at sea.
