A Luxury Yacht
Maj Oceanic
47 M | 6 Cabins | 12 Guests
The Maj Oceanic is a two masted Phinisi launched in 2020, built in the traditional way but finished to a standard closer to a design hotel than a sailing vessel. Her defining feature is the Zheng He Admiral Suite, a 120 square metre master cabin that occupies the entire bridge deck and opens onto a private balcony with views across three sides of the ship. Six suites in total accommodate up to 12 guests, with a crew of 14. She cruises Komodo, Raja Ampat, and the Spice Islands, and suits guests who want space and comfort combined with traces of ancient maritime glory.
“The Admiral Suite is unlike anything else in the world of Phinisis. With 120 square metre and designed to reflect world-class resorts, it is truly outstanding on the market.”

Design & Space
On Board Maj Oceanic
The Maj Oceanic was designed by a team who is specialised in luxury resorts, and it shows in the interiors. The spaces are calm and considered, built around natural materials, soft light, and a palette drawn from the islands the ship sails through. The main deck holds an open plan lounge with a bar and a flexible dining area, while the decks outside offer several places to gather or enjoy moments of solitude.
There is alfresco dining forward and aft, a large daybed, and a cushioned foredeck for slow morings. The upper deck features sun loungers and offers open views. A spa room sits below, available for treatments through the day.
Accommodation
Cabins on Maj Oceanic
The six suites are named after explorers, and they vary more in scale than on most vessels of this size. The Zheng He Admiral Suite is the reason many guests choose the yacht. At 120 square metres it takes up the whole bridge deck, with a private balcony, a large bathroom with a tub, and windows on three sides.
The Columbus suite on the main deck offers a king bed and its own generous footprint. Below deck sit four further suites in king or queen configuration, calm and uncluttered, with one smaller extra twin cabin that works well for children or staff. Every suite is en suite and air-conditioned and finished in the same style as the rest of the ship.
Wellness & Water
Days on The Maj Oceanic
Days aboard tend to move at a gentle pace. There is diving and snorkelling for those who want it, with equipment on board and access to the reefs of Komodo and Raja Ampat, but the ship is built around comfort rather than a dive schedule. Kayaks, paddleboards and Jet Skis are there for water sports, and the 2 tenders run guests to beaches, viewpoints, and villages ashore.
Back on board, the wellness treatments are a genuine part of the experience. Guests can book a massage in the spa room, practise yoga on deck, or try the equatorial golf on the top deck, which uses biodegradable balls filled with fish food. It is the kind of detail that differentiates Maj Oceanic from other luxury yachts.

Expert Insights on Maj Oceanic
Barefoot’s take
The Admiral Suite is the headline, and it earns the attention. 120 squre metre luxury resort style living on a traditional wooden Phinisi. It is just wow. From our experience the layout and set up works perfectly for multigenerational charters or larges groups who value comfort, space and privacy.
