A Classic Yacht
Calico Jack
30 M | 5 Cabins | 10 Guests
Calico Jack is a wooden Phinisi yacht, built in 2014 by Konjo craftsmen in Bira, South Sulawesi and renovated in 2023. She was designed for long-range operations and remote expeditions. This is reflected in how she is fitted: a purpose built-dive deck, a dedicated camera station, and a dual-engine system for long distances. Five en-suite cabins carry 10 guests and the generous indoor and outdoor areas provide enough space for relaxation, sunbathing, and morning coffees.
She takes her name from the English pirate John Rackham, who worked the Caribbean and the Bahamas three hundred years ago.
“Calico Jack brings out your inner pirate. She is a beautifully built yacht with an incredible crew, ready to take you on an adventure of a lifetime.”

Character & Design
On Board Calico Jack
Calico Jack offers several spaces. Her main deck runs under a canvas roof, open to the sea on both sides, with fans, rattan lamps and one long table where the day collects. A sun deck sits forward at the bow, and a sky lounge with loungers tops her off, so 10 guests spread out easily for a boat this size.
Her name is carried lightly through her: a compass rose carved into the timber, a skull in a tricorn hat on the table. And the food is what guests remember most, a rotating Asian fusion menu with beach BBQ nights on empty islands.
Accommodation
Cabins on Calico Jack
Five cabins sit on the lower deck: two cabins convert between a double and twins, two are fixed doubles, and the fifth cabin, forward, is a twin. Built entirely in timber, warm and close, with Sulawesi scrollwork carved into the trim and a patterned panel above each bed.
Depending on the cabin either two or four brass portholes bring natural light into the cabins. The private bathrooms are compact wet rooms floored in teak grating, with hot showers. Every cabin is equipped with AC, fans and plenty of storage space.
Diving & Water
Diving on Calico Jack
This is where Calico Jack earns her keep. A maximum of just 10 guests, allows relaxed dive logistics, small dive groups, and more personal service with a dedicated instructor aboard and two dive tenders. Nitrox is available, twin compressors keep the tanks turning, and each diver has an individual timber gear box on the dive deck.
Photographers get a camera station of their own, with rinse tanks, work surface and charging. Her itineraries reach where few go, Cenderawasih Bay and Triton Bay among them, and the diving is run safety first, for every level.

Expert Insights on Calico Jack
Barefoot’s take
Do you want to feel like a real pirate? If yes, Calico Jack is the yacht for you. The cabins are compact, but the diving and the food are what guests talk about, the food especially, which is rare on a vessel this size
