An Adventure Yacht
Aboya
28 M | 3 Cabins | 6-8 Guests
Aboya is a 28-metre adventure yacht designed for private voyages through Raja Ampat, Komodo, Sumbawa, and beyond, with a small-group layout that keeps the experience personal and quietly adventurous. Her name comes from an old Bugis sailor tradition. It means searching for meaning or purpose, going somewhere not without a mission. The owners are divers, sailors, and freedivers themselves, people who use the vessel for their own exploration and charter it to guests with the same instincts. That spirit shapes how she operates: small-group, unhurried, anchored in remote places, and built around time in the water.
“Aboya appeals to families who are looking for a non-conventional private voyage. The experience is personal and unhurried.”

At Sea
On Board Aboya
Life on A’Boya is shaped around a slower style of cruising. Wide, open teak decks and easy water access mean the sea is always close — guests move between swimming, snorkelling, diving, and time ashore without the yacht ever feeling overbuilt or over-programmed. The atmosphere is relaxed and low-key. A small group travels comfortably here while staying closely connected to the places around them. Her shallow draft opens anchorages and lagoons beyond the reach of larger vessels, which gives the itinerary a flexibility that maps and brochures rarely capture.
Family-friendly
Cabins on Aboya
A’Boya has three cabins arranged for groups of six to eight. Two master cabins provide the main accommodation — one above deck with an extra-large bed suitable for three, one below deck with a double bed — both en-suite and air-conditioned. A separate bunk cabin with shared bathroom and air conditioning broadens the layout for children or a solo traveller. The setup is practical rather than elaborate, which suits the yacht’s scale. It works particularly well for couples travelling with children, or for friends who want a private charter without needing a larger boat.
Adventure & Fun
Activities
A voyage on A’Boya is shaped as much by what happens off the yacht as on it. Scuba diving gear, snorkelling equipment, two kayaks, and two stand-up paddleboards are all on board — enough to keep a small group moving independently through reefs, bays, and shoreline. The experienced cruise director works around the group’s interests and pace, weaving water activities together with land excursions: hikes, village visits, and shore exploration that give each anchorage more than one reason to linger.

Expert Insights on Aboya
Barefoot’s take
While Aboya is smaller than most other charter yachts in our portfolio, what truly stands out is her ability to actually sail and access the most beautiful anchorages. She is a refreshingly straightforward sailing yacht – built for exploration at sea rather than formality.
